Modern transportation both generates and relies on a large amount of data. These are the operational requirements for providing accessibility and innovative mobility along with the development of smart, connected communities. ATI embraces the challenge and opportunity of the new data-driven transportation paradigm by cultivating and supporting expertise in the efficient and secure collection, storage, and analysis of transportation-derived data.
Digital Transportation Collaboratory
Based on the involved topics and constituent members of the Digital Transportation, we have identified Transportation Research Data Lake as a Signature Project to help focus the attention of the collaboratory at a high-level in parallel to the new and ongoing research. This project is meant to support the overall research efforts of this topic and to yield a core resource to support transportation research at The University of Alabama.
